On 4 November 2023, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, a ceremony was held to sign a Letter of Intention between the Diplomatic Academy of Viet Nam and the Tony Blair Institute. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Do Hung Viet, and Global Managing Director, Michael Mc Nair, witnessed the signing ceremony.
During the signing ceremony, Mr. Michael Mc Nair introduced the Tony Blair Institute, a reputable advisory body to many governments on governance issues, particularly in the fields of technology and innovation. Currently, the Tony Blair Institute has dozens of offices with over 800 employees worldwide.
Mr. Michael Mc Nair commended the achievements of the Vietnamese Government in maintaining rapid and sustainable growth over the past decade. He emphasized that the Tony Blair Institute would make substantial contributions to support Vietnam in various fields in the future, such as digital diplomacy and economic diplomacy.

welcomed Mr. Michael McNair and the members of the Tony Blair Institute to
Vietnam and their participation in the signing ceremony of the Letter of
Intention with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam. Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet
expressed confidence that today's signing of the Letter of Intention is an
important first step in setting the stage for future collaboration between the
Diplomatic Academy and the Tony Blair Institute. Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet affirmed
that Vietnam highly values and supports the activities of the Tony Blair
Institute, as well as the personal contributions of Mr. Tony Blair in Vietnam.
He welcomed the proposed support for the Diplomatic Academy as outlined in the Letter of Intention, as well as the assistance in enhancing and promoting Vietnam's image to international friends, which is a new and practical area. Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet suggested that the Tony Blair Institute help strengthen the promotion of Vietnam's image in the Middle East region, thereby further facilitating investment activities from the Middle East into Vietnam.
Deputy Minister Do Hung Viet believes that with its extensive network of offices and relationships, the Tony Blair Institute can also play a crucial role as an important channel to help the Ministry of Foreign Affairs connect with the necessary partners and support its work./.
